HEFCE: The higher education knowledge exchange system in the US
This paper finds that the UK system is on a par with the US, and both countries are looking to each other for good practice. The US system is stronger in community engagement and HE’s contribution to local economic development. The UK is ahead in introducing knowledge exchange into the promotions and assessment criteria of academics.
