PraxisAuril is delighted to share this independent review undertaken by Canadian consultants McIvorStones for Research England, which explores opportunities and challenges for scale-up and launch of digital spinouts across England’s HE landscape.
The aim of ‘Invention to Impact: Exploring the Knowledge Exchange pathways of digital technologies’ is to raise awareness of the diverse modes of commercialisation and entrepreneurship in tech sector specific domains which closely align with four of the five technologies identified as critical to the UK in the UK Science and Technology Framework – AI, Future Telecommunications, Semiconductors and Quantum Technologies.
RE commissioned McIvorStones to take a deep dive into current practice from the sector through interviews with ten universities across England as well as with PraxisAuril and DSIT. The report’s release coincides with the government’s Independent Review of Spinouts, which includes a recommendation to create more sector-specific approaches and support for spinouts, including software.
