This course will help develop technical knowledge in confidently drafting, interpreting and amending research contracts, whilst building skills to foster strong relationships and consensus with stakeholders for long term impact.

 

Universities, research institutes, and organisation such as the NHS etc., need to have staff skilled at reviewing, setting up and managing research contracts in order to put research agreements in place for collaborations and ensure the projects are delivered.

Creating and managing these (sometimes complex) collaborative relationships between organisations can often prove challenging and frustrating; managing relationships, IP and outcomes to achieve an efficient agreement. This course will help you gain the skills required including an ability to identify your objectives in a research contract negotiation; to understand the impact of your objectives on others; to develop influencing skills, as well as specific technical and legal knowledge.

Suitable for: Professionals managing collaborative research partnerships and those in research contracts, industry liaison, business development or IP contracts management roles. Delegates who have gained an overview from the 1 day ARMA Research Contracts workshop will find this course takes themes further and in more detail.
