This response covers the Business, Innovation and Skills Committee’s specific recommendations, and should be read in conjunction with “Our plan for growth: science and innovation”, the Government’s Science and Innovation Strategy (www.gov.uk/government/publications/our-plan-for-growth-science-andinnovation). Published in December 2014, the strategy sets out the Government’s intent for the UK to remain a global leader in science and innovation and defines the scale and scope of the UK science and innovation system out to 2020 and beyond.
